All, I am looking for tricks that I can do remotely through the postal mail and long distance. Perhaps a number game or a mentalist trick. I can communicate via phone and postal mail (and internet), but I won't see them in person. I will have days and weeks of preparation (ie I can send them letters setting the stage). I am wondering if people have good trick ideas for two cases (1) when you don't have a confederate and (2) when you do have a confederate on the other side by the subject.

I've been reading a lot of Karl Fulves Self-working number, mental and paper magic books, but almost every trick assumes you will be there in person.

It seems like, although different, there should be plenty of potential tricks from when you are afar as well.

I appreciate any pointers/ideas.

You could do a telephone trick and end with it posted in the mail instead of revealing their card, pm and I'll give you a few books you ca get with these...

I actually own a book that covers many effect with effect through the mail.

What is those books name?

There is a postal card effect on Sankey's 22 blows to the head (I will check that is the correct DVD).

When trying to create an effect like this, work BACKWARDS from the end, and it's much easier to work out the mechanics required.

It would be like this:

The first email would be: "Your card: 3 of spades."

The second email would be: "You had a free choice to think of any card."

The third email would be: "Imagine a deck of cards, all cards are different. Please think of any card."
