Himber Vanish help

Postby AcrylicAce » Feb 3rd, '07, 17:40

Hello hello,
I am very new to magic and was hoping I could get some help. I am working on some slieghts with coins and I have the retention vanish down pretty well but the Himber vanish I just can't get.

I really can't figure out the position of my hand to get the coin to flip into my hand. Every time I try it the coin either hits my knuckle on the way down or just falls and hits the edge of the coin and falls off my hand.

Are there any pointers you could give me?

Thanks,
AcrylicAce

Is this not a common vanish or something?

The Himber vanish is one of the trickier moves to get down, so it's not in common usage (as far as I've seen). It can be learned, though. I go into my handling on Basic Coin Magic (search the reviews section for more info).

You may want to try holding the coin more on one of the phalanges of your index finger rather than the knuckle; that way there's less chance of hitting another knuckle on the way down.

Take care, Ian
