Magic Circle

Postby philmorris » Feb 7th, '07, 20:59

Hi,

I have been interested in magic for some time now and dabbling for a few years off and on, although only a few months with any diligence.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what the audition for the Magic Circle is actually like? I fully appreciate that I am some considerable way off but forewarned is forearmed.

:D

Many thanks,

Phil

Through the companies I have worked for I have met a couple of magicians who are members of the magic circle, and I believe that you have to be nominated and then seconded even before you get invited to an examination and interview to assess your proficiency as a magician.

Hi,

Well - yes. My understanding as it stands at the moment is that one can apply but any application has to be supported by two existing members.

It's this detail which I am really looking to determine.

Many thanks. :D

You get forwarded by a memeber of circle its like joining the masons but more difficult !!!

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

It's not at all like joining the Masons - I speak from knowledge of both organisations.

Details of how to join can be found here:

http://www.themagiccircle.co.uk/main_na ... D=A0020002

If you know one member who will propose you, the seconder probably won't be a problem.

You will be invited to come along to a meeting as a guest and be interviewed by the Examinations Secretary. Be prepared for some searching questions!

You will be given guidance about examinations and a date for audition. Auditions are held in the close-up area in the Devant Room, in front of a few examiners and whoever else cares to watch - usually a few rows.
