My Business Card... Suggestions?

Postby i1011i » Feb 2nd, '07, 18:46

Hello folks

I have been working out what to do for my business card. Here is what I have at the moment. It isn't too fancy-fied or flashy as I don't do fancy-fied or flashy magic for my professional persona. So I don't want it so busy. But at the same time, what I have at the moment feels a bit... too bare.

I can't do anything for the background really... as I do kentonism type stuff via the eye in the triangle. And I don't have any address but my home address at the moment, and since it isn't my home at the moment I don't want to use that. As if physical addresses were still in vogue anyway.

Oh yes, the placement of the triangle is important. I do billet work and it acts as a guide for how to fold the card.

So what do you think?

(Oh yes, the phone number won't be smudged out on the final product!)

instead of a address you could have some membership details like on a sanctum card.

I think it's pretty sweet - certainly intriguing. I'd want to hire you just to see what a psychological illusionist does, I think that's a great job title to use.

Looks very nice! And, as Farlsborough said, the title is brilliant. Good job :)

Thanks for your feedback everyone.

I'm not sure what membership details I would put. I was to be sponsored into the magic circle while I lived in London, but it fell through for reasons outside of my control and totally nothing to do with magic.

Anyway, thanks again everyone.

If it is to be a business card, I would ensure, even if you use the back, that you outline the type of venus/event you are suitable for. I'd also put your email address on it.

i study graphics in school, and have learnt if you want to draw attention have a boarder. it doesn't have to be flashy, a simple thin black line will do. it makes the person focues in on the card and not get distracted.
it looks cool, but perhaps and email address would be useful and a myspace if you have one :?

Yeah, I forgot the email address. And I do have a myspace, but it isn't going to appear on my business card. The border idea is a good one. Maybe I will play with that a bit on the design. Thanks again everyone!

you may have to make a reprint of this one, the number came out all blurry  lol
I think its a very good card, designs nice, did you do it yourself or did you get a company to do it for you?

Looks nice, simple and to the point. I personally don't see the need for a coarder, everything is going on in the middle of the card so the eye is drawn there automatically.

Thumbs up from me. :D

Yeah, I did not do the boarder as I want the attention to go to the center of the eye in the triangle. The triangle was drawn by my ex-girlfriend based on a concept I gave her. (I said, do you think you can draw a crazy lookin' triangle thinggy and make a fancy-fied eye in the middle? heh only kidding)

Thanks again for all the feed back. Just got it back from the printers and it looks awesome! I was worried the detail wouldn't come out.

Hi David,

I guess I’m too late. Still, business cards are cheap, so I’ll give you a suggestion.

I would make up several sets, each with a minor difference denoting some sort of numeric sequence. In other words, the cards will be marked.

The markings will allow you to perform Psychometry routines. Good examples are Larry Becker’s Sneak Thief and Max Maven’s Desire.

Thanks,

Elliott

I like your suggestion. I have a marking system I have devised that I do manually. It is simple, effective, and almost invisible. But, I will play with that idea as well.

Cheers!
