Hi, I'm the new guy

Postby Lyncho » Mar 2nd, '07, 17:05

My name's Andy Lynch, I'm 18, I live in Warwickshire, and I started learning card magic about a month ago. I was recommended by a friend (a guy called Seth Engström, a Swedish card magician who's famous in the magic scene, apaprently - I know him off a fitness forum) to read RRTCM and Oz Pearlman's Born To Perform, both of which I now own. RR is pretty good, I've learnt some good stuff from there, but I love Born To Perform. I prefer learning off DVDs as it's easier to get to grips with the sleight or motion straight away, rather than having to decipher what the author is saying.

Anyway, yeah, just thought I'd say hi, this place is great, and I hope to learn loads! Anyone got any more advice for me if I'm mainly interested in cards and street magic?

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hi Mr. Lynch and welcome!

Don't disregard the books, that "deciphering" process can have some real value to it even if it does take a bit longer.
