Well, the ones I've got are all linen finished. I haven't bought any since Christmas though.

I personally use bikes due to the thickness of them and the fact that almost all gaffs are printed on bicyle backs. Tally Ho also makes great cards as well as Bee which are great for second deals due to the back not having a white boarder making it hard to differeniate between cards.

The only problem I've found with bikes (and then, it's not the fault of the bikes themselves) is that as most specs aren't used to seeing them, they assume it's a gaffed deck. I normally get round this by explaining they're poker sized, which are larger than the bridge ones they're used to (hence easier to see from a distance).
I'll usually have a pack or two of familliar bridge cards (such as the Waddingtons) with me so I can 'prove' it's magic and not a trick deck.

I've been using Waddington's No.1's as well, they are 60p/deck at a local shop and the linen finish is excellent. Lookin for a place to get Bikes in leeds, though!

I think that unless the spec is a real card demon, they're not going to recognise one card design from another because there are so many different makes out there, let alone know the difference in the size between poker and bridge.

Like most I use poker bikes and I have never once had anyone question the design or size of the cards. I do get very regular ' It is a trick deck isn't it' but that's easily sorted by giving them to check.

Bicycle all the way.

Whenever I perform a card routine I always offer the deck for shufflling beforehand, and I find this removes all suspicion.

As lady of mystery says ( right again ) very few laymen know the difference between card decks and sizes anyway.

I'm currently in the process of changing all my gaffed cards (NFW etc) from blue to red backs. Don't ask me why, because I don't know.

Yeah bikes for me too and there's no worries with them as people don't recognise them or they can be handed out as already said.

Although I like to sometimes practise with older and different decks. As sometimes someone will hand you a deck and it doesn't look good if you say nope I can't use them lets use mine.

I think it must be the only type of gaffed deck that the public are aware of.

i think hoyles are the best, as they never wear out and they handle like a new deck every time. they are basicly bikes with a plastic coating. they arn't anymore expensive than bikes but they last much longer.
