You know when you get one of those specs that you just want to punch? I had a prime candidate last night in a bar.
I was doing a few tricks to a group of lads I play football with, and one of their mates spent the entire night doing the usual 'I know how that's done' 'I had that in a Paul Daniels magic set' 'why couldn't do that in my hand' 'I'm not impressed' etc etc. Everyone else was loving it, but he was just being a complete nobber.
In the end I was getting really fed up with him so told him to show me a trick and handed over the cards. Obviously he backed away and said he couldn't be bothered, so I thought it was time to put him to bed. Asked him to just think of any card, free choice etc etc then hit him with Bang On. He was gobsmacked and said 'now that was f*****g good!'
What made it better was the card he thought of was the King of Clubs, and he asked to see the wallet which I had no problem with ( owners of Bang On will understand why).
To top it all for the first time in years a spec had thought of the card that I keep 'predicted' in a sealed mini envelope in a pocket of my wallet.. I couldn't believe my luck!!! I asked him to take the envelope, open it, and there, on a piece of paper, was written 'I knew you were going to choose the King Of Clubs'
It's fare to say that was him silenced for the rest of the night, and I even got a pint off of him!
