Ninja bombs

Postby sleeve » Apr 17th, '07, 20:36

does any one know how to make one or where i can find out how to make one?

for people unsure what that is, its a contact smoke bomb where you throw it on the ground and it makes a cloud of smoke so that you can "disappear".

i actually think its more dangerous to buy. the risk to go off is pretty high. but anyways no you cant buy it anywhere, ive looked. but ima pretty sure theres a book or video that teaches you how to make one. im pretty sure there have been some magicians that have successfully made them.

Potassium Nitrate 60%
Sugar 40%

Mix whilst gently heating, pour into ice cube tray and insert 10mm of Visco Safety Fuse (water proof) before the smoke bombs harden.

Light fuse a throw down quickly because it can damage your hand quite a lot if its still in it when it goes off.

You can use more safety fuse if you want more time before it goes off, but 10mm will burn in 1 second so it should go off just as it hits the ground.

O and btw when mixing over a hot plate or stove be careful not to heat it too much because it will ignite and fill the whole damn bottom floor of your house with smoke, just trust me on that one

O and be careful jada jada jada .....you get the drift

You could use Peter Logans Exploding Paste instead of a fuse, basically draw an X with a sharpie and paint on that part of the 'bomb' with the liquid, let it dry and avoid touching the X and then one you throw it down the paste will explode making a bang and in turn causing a rather large puff of smoke.

EDIT - I forgot to mention that its a highly delicate contact explosive when dry and will go off quite easily to bear that in mind.

I learned one version from a book... the other...
I was taught, "handed down to me" one might say. working in a chem lab gets you these things. :D

You just have to know where to look.
Looking into my collection of book, one teaches it.
But again its not sold to just any one.

And I dont just give out names of books that teach fairly dangerous stuff. If the person isnt willing to look for them selves, they probably arent ready to handle it.

And the previous explantion is probably the closest you will find easily.

Totally agree, i just thought i would share, but to be fair the method i mentioned is quite easy to find, and there are proably loads of better methods, which like you said should be accessible to anyone. :)

thanks! there was one way i learned... not sure what the book was called, but it required a ball bearing the size of a pinball (which i have been unable to find), one of those really old paper caps(i dont think they even make those anymore), flash paper, and flash power(which is illegal where i live but the magic shop will sell to me). the way you make it is very simple but the objects needed seems impossible for me to find.

My cousin used to make this in his chemistry classroom after school when he was sixteen. He was pretty tight with his teacher so he pretty much free run of the place. I was eight when he was making them and one day he threw one down three feet in front of me. Scared the absolute s*** out of me, but he ended up getting what he deserved. The last time he did it, the smoke bomb somehow got stuck to his hand (I don't know how it happened, maybe he had gum on it). Anyway, it blew up in his hand. Luckily it was pretty weak so all he got was a really bad chemical burn. He still has the scar. Anyway, the point of the story is, I wouldn't reccommend anyone to make them unless they're being made by someone who knows alot about chemistry. I don't think I'll ever make them.
