I'm pretty sure fillibuster is spelt filibuster, though I could see both of them being accepted.

Plethora is a personal favourite of mine, as is barren.

....now that's a good work, pedantic

Now there's a coincidence lol - 'cos when I typed my post I actually thought to myself, "Hmm, this sounds a lil' pedantic  ". (No really, I did  ).

If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

"Cellar door" wasn't voted, it was suggested by Tolkien. I think it's a bit rubbish personally, even if they did bring it up in Donnie Darko.

I like borborygmy, because it's a medical term (for your stomach rumbling) but it's also onomatopoeic.

I also like the word "verbose", because it is the opposite of it's meaning.

Antidisestablishmentarianism is such a "ooh I'm in 4th grade and know a big word" word. Weaksauce.

Btw, floccinaucinihilipilification is longer by one letter.

Edit: Apparently floccinaucinihilipilificatiousness could also be considered to be a real word.

2nd edit: Just found this gem:

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

I don't think scientific words should count as you can just invent them by piling on any latin or greek root that has anything to do with the subject...

ie. hydropneumoastrogeothermodynamology - the study of water and air on the rock material of stars and the resulting changes in heat and movement...

Also, the true names of molecules are only limited by the ability to create them, again it's just a matter of running it all together.

I don't think that one counts because it is a fictitious word.

I've always liked the word "Mope." Never knew why. Just fun to say.

Mope...MOPE...MOpe...moPE!

:D

Thanks,
