Elementary School magicians

Postby ninjacd » Apr 22nd, '07, 15:00

When I was in elementary school this guy came in calling himself a "Master magician" I remember one of the things he did was the box with the swords going through it and the swords AREN'T susposed to hit you I repeat AREN'T well one went right through him and killed him I think I don't remember his name I do remeber though he was rushed to a hospital and was bleeding pretty bad. I don't think they made a big huge fuss over it either. The teachers said something like it was part of the trick...
Has anyone heard anything about this? it was a while ago

Sounds like a Penn and Teller gag, but I doubt it was.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

That's got to suck for all the little kids watching the guy die.

I don't know. As a child I probably would have thought it was all part of the show, at least up to a point. But when one does that sort of thing in front of children, one better told them not to try it at home. I would think the ones present there certainly didn't.

He should have done it with a particular volunteer and saved us all some hassle.

I once did something like that. When i was about 5, i bought a pocket sized finger chopper, and thought that since i had seen it performed and was told it was self working it required no set up,

So, i got it home, unwrapped it, put my finger through the hole and slammed my fist on top of the plunger, because it said to push it down quickly.

I had to be rushed to hospital, because, although there was no blood, i found out that the bone in my first finger was completely shattered.

Oh well, it recovered, and i can still do card tricks.

All the best,
Croz
