No sound here at work but you flashed a few times before you switch, not sure if you are trying to be overly casual or what but keep that puppy covered up and you will be jamming!

As for the switch i felt it was good if not a little slow.

Kudos for the effort though

Bob

Yeh I noticed that.. my other thread doesnt involve any flashing.. I dont think..

the patter is fairly good, something about a shop assistant that p*ssed me off and so I do the dirty on her :D

The bill switch itself I experiment with different speeds as long as it remains consistent. But you probabably found it slow as there is a short story before the switch ... I think I was overly casual though in this one

Yeah, i wasn't too sure as to what you were saying, then again the sound on my laptop is s**t as it is,

I did spot a couple of occasional flashes, but then again, laymen don't expect "Those Things", so they don't look out for it.

Strangely enough, i imagined you as Scottish I.D. Never thought to look at your home town. :?

All the best,

I gave up at 1:04 as nothing had happened yet and I couldn't understand a word. I don't know if you intended to be monotone or not. If so, a view of your face would help give the spectator confidence in you.

To be monotone? I didnt know monotone was a verb. Oh well.

It wasn't monotonOUS, (which is what i presume you meant) it was just that the sound quality wasn't great (which I.D. apologised for). Nothing wrong with the magic.

You just need some more patience. 1:04? That wasnt even half way through!

Nice effect, be careful when your fingers by your ring open slightly, spec might catch something, you should know what I'm talking about.

Still nice effect, but personally i would come up with a shorter more snappy patter then bam the change happens.

Good attempt for a first up-load keep up the good work :D

My point is that if you are going to ramble patter for more than a minute, the audience needs to 1.) be able to hear, understand and care about the story and 2.) have something to look at other than the magician fidgiting with a bill.

a) If performed live, as reccomended, then sound quality wouldn't be an issue, unless you enjoy duct taping a sock to your mouth (which I know that some people do).

b) It wasn't fidgiting, some people think that one side is a fiver, and the other side is a tenner, so it was just non-contact examination.

c) That "rambling" as you called it, was patter, which should take up about 80-90% of the trick, which it did.

Next complaint....?

I'll just ignore you and let I.D. interpet my observations as he wishes. It is his video afterall. Going back and forth with you is pointless.

What you have said is partly true to a certain extent however the amount of time he took over the last two points you made was still too long and most people seem to agree.

Secondly i don't feel that anyone is slating I.D. for his performance its more about pointing out areas which he could improve on to help him develop as a magician, so get down off your high horse and consider things before going off on one!

:? erm, thanks.. why argue in my thread

Yeh I hate youtube.. check out my other thread the switches are better..

Anyway.. it was 2am and I had only just figured out how to do the upload.. I think I was fighting sleep more than anything

The patter was a little long yes, HOWEVER, in a live situation.. this patter would have started as I was finishing my previous effect, so by the time I get the bill out there is less 'fidgeting' as you call it.

My flashes were down to being overcasual.. was just glad I bloody figured out how to upload :D

Thanks for all the input guys.. no offence taken.. with this and the other thread.. I wasnt so fussed about presentation as I was about getting the bill switch right.. I justimprovised anything that came to mind ,, hence the AWFUL presetation of the 'wigger' I encountered in town.. true as it might be

Crozboz is right to an extent.. I wouldnt perform this effect headless.. I would show my face.. not talk with PC interference shooting from my larynx and most importantly.. I wouldnt perform this live at 3am when my eyes can barely stay open

Yeah, I agree, not that interesting. It's a good trick but if you don't have something good to say with it, it would probably be better to say nothing at all.

Actually, .robb is using the word monotone as an adjective. You cannot be a verb. The word be is a verb. You can't be jump, but you can be happy. Sorry, I just have a tendency to nit pick.
