top card flick

Postby sammy1779 » Apr 26th, '07, 20:46

i saw Bill Malone flick a card from the top of the deck into the air in his routine of Cheating in Las Vegas with the Aces in On the Loose vol1 - (the last ace production)

has this flourish got a name?

I am having difficulties getting the card upwards regularly - it usually goes towards me.

I currently have a pile of cards now at my feet :(

Anyone help? thanks.

It's a John Cornelius move by the name of 'Spring Set' and can be found in his book 'The Award-Winning Magic of John Cornelius'... which is an absolutely brilliant book in all respects IMO.

No I'm afraid it wont be! everyones getting things a bit wrong in this thread, luckily BILL MALONES On The Loose vol.1 is one of my favourite dvd's :P

The move your referring to i assume actually happens on the third ace. The fourth is produced using a" sandwich" type move

The move "spring set" is not in this routine altough it does apear elsewhere on the dvd, i can see what you were thinking cardza!

Now as for where to learn it i believe if you buy BILL MALONES On The Loose Vol.1 You will find the move explained on there

Seriously though and I'm sure cardza will back me up on this its worth getting, it really is an amazing dvd!

BILL MA-LONE!! BILL MA-LONE!!

Um, I've had a little bit of trouble following this thread but if you're talking about the flourish I think you are, you need to keep a lot of pressure on both the card to be flourshed and the deck.

A lot of practice :D

The Bill Malone DVDs are excellent, although I can't stand the man's performance style or persona in general. The whole Bill Ma-Lone thing just makes me cringe, I listen to it with the sound as low as I can...
