Postby thwangs » May 21st, '07, 17:46

If you have any recommendations (books and dvds on single tricks or theory, whatev) or advice, can you please post here? I don't know how I should approach, what kind of tricks should be done, all that jazz... Thanks.

a search would have yielded many results on this very subject, however, I will offer up 2 sankey DVD's that will stand you in good stead for such a thing;
anytime anywhere
and
the real work on restaurants and bars
both good DVDs with workable material.

also, royal road to card magic and bobo if you do not already own them are two booksworth of worthy investment

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

Many think it is his worst work.
I am tempted to agree.
Have watched it once in all the time I've owned it.

Yes, a lot of the material isn;t great, but Forced Enntry, Trinity, and Circumference were splendid.

Ahh.. you can just use the house bread though... usually stale so it should work like a charm.

The "Live at the Jailhouse" DVD series would be perfect for you. It's an in-depth guide to working restaurants, explicitly answering your questions.

The latest David Stone DVD gives lots of tips for restaurant work and some great tricks as well

it's probably the best produced magic DVD I've had the pleasure of watching though the explanations are silent.

I'm lucky enough to have my DVD signed by the man himself

I can also echo the Sankey work on Restaurants as a piece of work to check out

As suggested, Live at the Jailhouse is about the best in my opinion, simly because it is so comprehensive.

I've just finished watching David Stone's DVD and thought that it was also very good but there is a lot more on the Jailhouse title, particularly if it''s something that you're only starting to get into. reviewed here:
