Ive said it before and i will say it again, it was a test !

2. the trial of the quality of something: to put to the test.

4. a set of questions, problems, or the like, used as a means of evaluating the abilities, aptitudes, skills, or performance of an individual or group; examination.

first of all i am very jealous that you have grown up/live in that area

What?

well...if you are going to do a film including dog-town skate/surf culture...you obviously must live/have lived there to do so :?

for a "test" i feel it is fine...the grainy effect looks quite good, however, i wouldn't have it on the magic parts...it could be a bit hard to follow, if people have bad eye site etc.

if you do intend on making a "proper" promotional video, then again i wil say more magic :)

No the magic will be filmed clear shot, just the transitions will be 8mm, the vid online looks really grainy but thats also due to web quality aswell...

I have not lived there no lol, I wish, I just love the ethos of it all, and am very much into my surfing and skating xxx

I like that you're trying something different but I would say Lee Asher's stuff is quite different from other DVDs. I cannot be one to say since I don't have any of his DVDs but from what I've heard....

And I wouldn't call those magic DVDs "crappy"... Maybe it's not your style but no need to say that. I'm sure you've learnt a lot from these so called "crappy" DVDs too?

After understanding what you are doing I will comment on the clip its self. I think the film work is excellent and although I personally am not into the surf skate scene, I am looking forward in seeing the finished vid. The fact that in this clip you elude to magic by the card shot makes things a little more intreging (cant spell). Well done.

Going off the criticisms of not enough magic and more onto surfing (secrectly - :D ), I go down cornwall quite a bit, what beach did you go down to get the shot of the surfer?
