How to find out how tricks are done!!!

Postby crozboz » Jun 2nd, '07, 19:30

Having recently passed my time reading through some rather pathetic posts in the SinBin, I saw one where the TM temp. member had used the excuse that his brother had got the sudden urge to rip up the instructions to the "humming bird card thingy".

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of any other worse attempts to find out how tricks were done?

All the best,

Fairies spirited away the instructions and all possible information for me to get in touch with the company I bought it from and receive new instructions.

Okay, didn't actually read that, but it'd be pretty hard to argue with it. Fairies are a mischevious bunch.

The ripped up explanation IS possible... when I was young (we're talking about eight here) I threw the instructions to one of those magic set things in the hedge. Never saw 'em again.

Possible, I grant you, but you wouldn't get the name wrong, surely. I would have thought you would be able to see the name on some ripped up paper.

My first ever sv****i deck had the instructions on the inside of the wrapper. I didnt know that until after I had torn it up.

It was in alot of pieces, and even though the font was about this big, I could make it out.

I know what you mean about those fairies.

Just say I know how its done but do you? Go on prove it! I dare you!

Magicians love a challenge and a dare!

I.e go on magician I dare you to practise the pass for years and years befor e you will be able to perfect it! And what do magicians do, they practise the pass for two years straight!

No need for any sleight-of-hand. Just phone up your magic trick supplier and say you are interested in buying a gimmick, but want to know how it works first. Works every time.

My relationship with gimmicks usually goes something like this:
1. See gimmick advertised and get suckered in by the promotion.
2. Order gimmick.
3. Gimmick arrives and upon inspection reveals itself to be a piece of c*** (not the best).
4. Put gimmick on shelf and forget about.
5. Have an idea for a routine some months later, and wonder if that old gimmick could just be what I'm looking for.
6. Spend an hour trying to find gimmick.
7. Find gimmick and realise that no, I was wrong. It is still just a piece of c*** (not the best).
