Hello everyone...

Hi, my name's Chris. As a fairly inexperienced computer user, I'm new to the whole forum thing, but I thought I'd jump on the bandwagan and get involved and this seemed to be the best place to start...

As I say, my name's Chris Cook, I'm 17 and I live in Kendal, Cumbria (that's northern England just for those who are from further afield). I'm a confident and competent street/close-up magician favouring hard hitting card-tricks with the occasional delvings into mentalism and hypnotism. I've been interested in magic for many a year but only in the past two or three have I turned it from interest to hobby, hobby to lifestyle, and lifestyle to grounds for divorce... I'm currently trying to turn my obsession into a means of making, rather than spending money. Because of the nature of my close-up effects I'm looking into doing parties and restaurant/bar work however my inexperience in the field has held me back. I don't know if there are any more magicians in and around Cumbria or the North-West (hint-hint) but I currently know very few so I've recieved very little advice on making magic a buisness (which for me has so far mainly consisted of doing the magic I enjoy then rather optimistically handing out buisness cards...). If anyone can offer advice then all tips will certainly be welcome.

Anyway introductions aside, I shall look forward to using this site to discuss magic methods, future tricks I'm working on, and post the occasional video as well as generally meeting other people with my passion (as I say I know very few...). Well I imagine this has helped you learn a little about me and I hope to speak to some of you soon...

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Hello and welcome to TM.

However, I am going to get a touch random here, and slightly off topic, I have a multi-coloured hippo on my desk called Kendal which I got when I went up there and stayed at the Castle Green hotel, and I must say, your town is glorious.

Hi and welcome to TM.

Kendal is a lovely place, I've been windsurfing on Windermere a few times and really love that part of the country.
