Paul Daniels - Chop Cup Routine

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I saw the Easter special recently that this clip originates from. Also saw a christmas special.
And I'm sorry to say that this short routine was the best part of the whole show. The rest was just really weak and non-magic related, such as a lady doing things on a bike, bubble blowing, performing seals, and a horrendous bunco booth, based on weak mathematics.
The finale to one special was Paul pulling objects from a box for about 10 mins, but after 2 mins you'd lost interest. Then he spent another 10 mins going over the objects and saying a rhyme about the objects (partridge in a pear tree style)
Harry Blackstone Jr with the buzz saw was the only decent thing on there.

I always wanted them to be repeated myself, but now after seeing two specials, all I can say is "Please don't repeat them"

EDIT: Oh forgot about the disappearing TV camera. That was good. (apologies Paul)

Considering the amount of rubbish that the Beeb DOES repeat it is very surprising that they won't consider any re-runs of Mr Daniels, even on BBC3, 4, 5 and up to 34!

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I was looking for some performances of Paul Daniels's and I found these few links for his show:

You might want to skip through the breakdancing section at the end of the first video and the beginning of the second one. So eighties

It's also included in the "50 greatest magic tricks" that either channel 4 or 5 keep showing..

Excellent.. it has inspired me to re-look at my cup routine.
