Hello all,

Just spotted this- http://www.bristol-old-vic.co.uk/whatso ... p?show=317

Anyone think this is worth attending? I've never heard of him before?!

Just wondered what your thoughts are?

Cheers,
Adam

I've known James for far too long. If you go, I'm sure you'll have a fun evening.

Take care, Ian

Oh ok.

Sounds like it'll be fun...it doesn't actually say he's performing magic though.

I'm sure he would....so worth attending then :?

It sounds good, I would probably go if I could. The only thing I would be wary of is the chance that the show tries to bring street magic to a stage. That cannot work, but since he is an apparent professional, I don't think he would try that.

Actually, it can work, and has done several times. There are many street performers that have moved into venues with roofs (as it was once described to me) and with a little adaptation have done quite well (John Lenahan and Whit Haydn spring to mind).

The advantage is that you already have a tight show - when the Edinburgh comedy scene started in 94 I was fortunate to have a tight thirty minute show already, while others were finding their feet.

James was a regular magician before he went to the streets. I'm sure he'll do fine.

Take care, Ian

Yeah, I've seen him perform in Covent Garden, realy liked him. His main act in this comprised of a cups and balls routine and if my memory serves me rightly (it may not!) a card to mouth routine. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed in him.

There was one guy that I saw in Covent Garden who was excellent. I think his name was Gary Stocker/Stock something like that. He did an excellent bill in lemon routine that was excecuted really well.
