I've seen several video's about fanning the full deck and there seem to be 2 different approaches; fast and slow.
The fast fans seem a bit easier for some reason. My fast fans use more of the deck, spread more evenly, and keep a tight "swirl" around my thumb for easier 1-hand closes.
However, I'd like to be able to do these slowly for presentation. Is this just something that comes with a lot of practice? I've been working on fans for a bit now, and the slower fans are still a little rough for me. I only seem to have used half the deck before it hits the other side, and the spread isn't always even. I have to apply a bit more pressure with my thumb and forefinger of the holding hand in order for them to be a bit more even.
Any tips on this? More bevel, less bevel? Raise my "dragging" finger faster? Anyone else have these issues when they learned fanning?
Thanks in advance
