I've been doing magic for almost 2 years now - close to the same time I've been with my GF, so she has grown tolook for slieghts and moves, so realy she can guess ow most are done - she even helps me out sometimes at events (well, in front of friends) by semi explaining the trick - keeps them guessing, plus, if they get close, she throws them off by saying 'na, I thought that initially, but its not, I've seen him practise it, but I cant tell you how its done'

They do have their uses :P

stay single.

it's not perfect, but you sure don't get half the hassle

That's my method, too.

Hello Everyone,

I believe in honesty with a partner. I guess I just like old-fashioned values.

Love,

this is, quite possibly, the best excuse to buy magic EVER.
When me and my brother lived at home, my brother is real big into guitars, and whenever I wanted a magic thing ordered I would be like "But MOM! You bought him a 1200$ guitar! Why not buy me a 9 dollar card trick!?"

Heres some math for my excuse to my mom. 1200 / 9 = 133.333... DVD's wernt around, just books and VHS, so everything was reletivley cheaper. the occasional 20 dollar special equipment... it evens out to about 100 magic items to one guitar.
100 magic items = 7-8 years of equipment and instruction.

I tend to avoid the question when asked, or give a stupid reply such as, 'Your mind would be warped beyond repair if I told you, however I'm safe as my mind was warped long ago', usually after that she gives up. Not quite as good as Rob's.
She has learned to look out for a couple of my sleights, so I know if I can get a trick past her I'm on the way to performing it awesomely (this may be a word I just invented).

Use the good old standby of, 'If I told you I'd have to kill you'.

But really mean it  !

I personally don't worry about my lady knowing. She's my guinea pig. I test all my stuff on her for the first time, so of course she's most likely going to see how it's done. She's gotten pretty good at watching clips with me and helping me figure out how they're done. She's kind of like my magic teammate. Although, she's pretty upset I "ruined magic" for her. She's best at telling me when I don't look "natural".

I don't think it really matters, Dave knows how most things are done and is great for watching a trick as he knows what to look out for and can point out where I'm going wrong. If I can get a sleight past him, I know I'm doing well.

Get rid of her simple. Relationships are doomed to fail. Cut out the middle man and save some money along the way.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.
