The book is quite bad actually... However, there are some good effects in it. This would be a good book to pick up if you want to teach a child a trick or two. They could also be Throwaway Gags in your show, like what David Merry does. He does Geek Stunts that are painfully obvious but the way they are presented is hilarious and still gets a bit of shock.

One word of warning though... The effect Andrew is doing o the front cover is almost impossible to pull off, not to mention downright painful.

The only effects I liked were Shrinking Pinky, Footloose, Knuckle breaking, and The Head Twister. The other ones are like some stupid stunt you would do during a magic jam session to get a laugh.

I disagree. I was doing that when I was a little older than you Mike. Then again, I was in much better shape than you at your age.. you still have to grow a little .. i mean your bones.. your big enough as it is.. and no I dont mean fat... i mean.. well, your still a kid.. so things requiring bodily strength you are bound to find difficult.

I dont like really bad geek magic.. Geek magic should be .. well , geeky at most.. not .. just pointless.

Well real geek magic isnt really geeky at all. Its the lowest forum of "magic" at a sideshow and carnival. With presentation you give it reason, its only pointless due to bad presentation.

Indeed presentation is everything, to be reminded of this, you only need to watch derren brown putting needles through robbie williams' arms (repeatd last night on E4) that was pure genius, bet you every lay person watching that show thought that was real, purely because of the presentation that went with it. I especially liked getting him to sing the nursery rhyme, set the "psycho killer horror film" mood perfectly
