what is that trick?

Postby Luker21 » Mar 14th, '04, 22:43

i was browsing through TV channels last nght at about 3 in the morning when i stumbled across a magic trick being performed. their it was, a pair of hands and a pack of red bikes. i thought this is cool. i was then baffled by the trick i saw performed.
the magician took the queen of diamonds from the pack trying to indicate it was random. he showed the card and then placed a piece of card over it with 3 holes in it. like a box where you put a woman in. he then pushed out the card from behind the centre box make it look like the queen was split in the middle. he then pushed it back and removed the card to show it whole again.
anyone know which trick it was?

Oddly enough it's called Zig-Zag Playing card! I know we stock it at studio 9, but have never noticed it elswhere as I havn't been looking. I imagine many dealers will have it 'cos it's fairly cheap.

nick this is similar but not quite the same. the trick you are talking about the cutout is twice the width of the card and has a hole for the piece that is slid accross. with the trick i saw the cutout was the size of a card and the piece that slid to the side it was free in the air.
any ideas

Oh right, we do one of these at studio 9 as well, but it is a jumbo card not a regular Bike.

If you've seen it the chances are it is for sale somewhere, but like I say I have only seen that version in Jumbo cards, and even then I can't be 100% sure it is right out in the open till saturday.
