Name : Voodoo Zone
Price : $15.00 www.ellusionist.com
Type : Card
Reset : 15 secs in private
Time to learn : about 10mins
Examinable : Yes
Difficulty : Novice

Effect: The trick looks like pure magic. A card is folded in half, face in. Another card is folded in half lengthwise, face OUT. The face out card is pushed through the face in card and as it comes out the other side it changes to FACE IN.
This all happens visibly and no trick cards are used. In fact, borrow a deck and do it - it's better that way.

Comment: A very good trick. Also included in the street package from the site. I love performing this trick because everything is examinable after the trick and they will be absolutely baffled.

Rating: 9/10

Borrow a deck ?
Only if you don't mind replacing it for them from your own pocket.

What I usually do is get a pack of airline ticket cards and just use that deck over and over, so you'd have a separate deck just for this trick.

I have been considering buying the Ninja and Street Magic video's (I now realise that they are two sperate videos although I don't think the ellusionist site makes this immdeiately apparent). How would you rate these video's? and am I right in assuming "Voodoo Zone" is included in one of them?

Yes Voodoo Zone is included. The Street Package looks very good, although I haven't got it yet (I'm getting it soon). People say not to buy this package because not enough credit is given to the inventors, but I disagree. While it is obviously wrong to not give credit where it's due, it's ridiculous to boycott a product when it can teach you some good magic.

Ninja looks good too.

I have the Street Package, and that is how I learned this trick. I recommend it, although it does not give a lot of credit. I personally recommend the tricks "chance zero," "voodoo zone," "trick switch." You will get some additional bonuses like the "spin change," which will take some practice to learn.

But apart from the specific magic taught in these videos, how would you rate them on the whole?

Ideally if you have both the Street Package and Ninja, could you perhaps rate each of them out of 10 please?

PS. I too appreciate that it would have been respectful to have given credit to the original Magcians, but I would not boycott the product because no credit was given.

I have all the Ellusionist videos (Street, Ninja 1, and Ninja 2)

They are all great. If you are mostly interested in cards go with the 2 ninja videos.

You also get access to the ninja private forum which gives some great tips on making the tricks even better (like letting spectator examine cards before doing vodoo zone)

Exactly how many video's does this site produce? By my reckoning there appears to be three; Ninja one and Ninja Two plus the Street Magic tape, is this correct?

If so, can anyone list what effects are available on each. If not can someone give a brief synopsis on each, it would be much appreciated.

the trick is indeed a good trick, a real fooler. But it will cost $15, you must be joking, although a good trick it is no way in hell worth that much money.

I found it on another website after searching on Yahoo for about five minutes. If I had the address then I'd give it, but u can just search and I'm sure you'll find it. Search for "card Warp", and I think I then followed a link from a messageboard post that I found using the search. It's very easy to find, and the site had photos as well, to illustrate what was actually going on.

Forgive me and even delete this message if I am disclosing too much information.

I just learned the Voodoo card trick on Ellusionist's Street Magic. It's pretty neat. Only one thing bothers me: You have to start with a card partially torn.

I'm wondering if it might be possible to tear the card and then seal the rip in such a way that the card could be pulled from a deck and seen by a spectator without even realizing that it was torn.

Perhaps this would be a good time to use a black deck such as the Viper Deck (although it's a bit expensive to be ripping up). The rip might not be visible, or perhaps could be hidden with a black marker.
