ambidexterity

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Like many have said I don't think learning a trick with both hands as dominant will actually benefit you in reality. Unless you were kidnapped and forced to do magic with your other hand.

But, flourishes tend to look more impressive when preformed with both hands at the same time and palming is something i personally feel you MUSt be able to do fluidly with both hands.

Just my two cents.

I'm right handed and do pretty much everything in my right hand. Me trying to write with my left hand is a joke! Except for pretty much any card work I use my left hand, especially the very small about of flourishing I do. Does anyone experience this?

I dont see what it can hurt to be able to perform with both hands.
I have learned how to perform the "LDS" with both hands, quick close a fan with both hands, biddle move and my DL, oh and the coin roll.

It can get your brain going as well. It allows you more freedom I think in some situations.

I have built it into my routines before. But thats my little secret

One place where it could come in handy- If in a car or other vehicle, and your facing the odd way that your used to. I have been in that situation.

Having athuritis, it helps keep my joints "free."

I don't agree with most of you here. I'm currently striving towards both handedness.
I'm right handed in real life, but left AND right handed when I pick a pack of cards up. What a nightmare, shuffle in this hand, move the cards to my other hand for a DL, move them back for a spring and dribble, then back into the other hand for a hot shot, etc......
So you can see why I need to be able to use both. Routining is smoother now, and couldn't be the same with one handedness.

It occurs to me that being ambidextrous with a TT might be an advantage. If the specs are burning one hand, you simply use the other......
