I'll presume you're talking about the end display of the Jacks. In order to make them flip over, every time...you need to position the cards as Harris suggests. You may have to experiment a bit to see if the cards need to be offset more and/or less than described. I use a U.S. Fifty Cent Piece to hold the three cards in place. The rest of the deck, I divide into 3 smaller packs. Place the small blocks of cards on each of the Jacks, where the edge of the block...meets the upper white border of the Jacks, nearest the back design. Presuming of course, you're using cards with a white border. Let each block of cards slide naturally off to their sides onto the close-up mat. You will need to make sure most of the weight is on the Jacks...this is important!! If most of the weight, of the blocks of cards, shift towards the Close-Up mat...you will need to reposition them.
When lifting the Fifty Cent piece, I have found that picking it up from one edge is best. Lever the coin up to it's milled edge (I use just my thumb and index finger), while keeping a slight constant pressure onto the cards. Once it is perpendicular to the deck, lift the coin all the way off...higher, so that the Jacks will have enough clearance to flip over.

Hope that helps. It really takes practice to get it right, each and every time. Put the work into this effect and I'm sure you'll enjoy it's rewards.

Thank you very much! That was very helpful.. I am going to go work on Flapjacks now.

Does anyone here use Eric Mead's 10 Card trick from Art of Astonishment Volume 2?

Does anyone here perform The Anything Deck? Your thoughts? What are the reactions like? I just leared it and am about to gimmick a deck for it so any advice you could give is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I made the Anything Deck, and tried it out for the first time today, on my mom. When I revealed the word she names printed across the cards I hadn't touched since the beginning of the effect, she went ballistic! She jumped back on the couch and started laughing uncontrollably. This very well may be the biggest reaction-getter in my repertoire!

Anyone else use The Anything Deck? You're thoughts?

Deep Astonishment II is the best refinement of it IMO.
