I brought a really nice old looking goblet for 15p at a boot fair today {bargain} I thought it may come in handy but I'm struggling to come up with anything for it so can anyone point me in a direction of some scary goblet magic apart from the obvious of pk effects with it please.

Could it be "altered" as a chop cup?

could be used to hold out or add a billet.
ring / coin vanishing.
coins across with a goblet.
gold quality tester, see ring vanish.
flaming goblet of death trick, ok perhapse a bit much.

Fill it with good wine and just keep drinking out of it !!

magicdiscoman, you beat me to it with the flaming goblet. With all the Harry Potter books and films, it would be good as a childrens prop as a Goblet Of Fire.

Some things, whether for adults or children would be:

Mentalism. Instead of burning the paper in an ashtray, use the goblet. Same effect, but a goblet will give it something that an ashtray certainly can't.

Transposition/vanish/production, with some flash paper. Maybe reveal a previously signed card in a flash in there.

What about adding a small piece of a smoke tablet to make it look as if it is gradually materialising?

Could be used for coin effects.

A bit of IT adds more effects.

Use as a table prop, or in the spectators hand. As it is ungimmicked, there is no problem how much they inspect it. ( Maybe use in their hands just before an unexaminable prop, so they have had chance to see you don't use gimmicks. )

Theres an effect i think called 'swamp water' in band of the hand (docc hilford) that could be really nice usng a goblet
