Any Method of Doing This?

Postby JAlexBrown » Aug 8th, '07, 16:00

I've been attempting to design a new trick (I'm going from trick to trick all day, every day), and I need some help. I'm working on having a spec pick a card, sign it, and return it to the deck. Drop the deck to the ground in a pile, and have the card levitate from the ground to eye-level. Then a bandana is draped over the floating card. After a few seconds with the card levitating under the bandana, the bandana falls to the ground and the card is gone. A shocking reveal shows the card...somewhere. Not sure where yet, but that's my routine so far. Has anyone seen any card disappearance while the card is levitating at the same time?

Some combination of an elaborate IT + pull set up could do it though I've never seen it done.

Read the lesson on Rising Cards in Tarbell Vol 2. It will give you countless methods for acheiving this kind of effect.

There was a magician (long time ago) I read about who would get 6 specs to pick a card, put cards in a glass and get 3 to rise, then throw remainder on floor and each of the remaining ones would float to his fingertips.

So, then, would the described effect be new and original, or has this routine been done before. I'm thinking of using the card to sealed deck for a grand finale. If this routine is original, than I'll really have to work quick before others start doing it.
