Purchasing Problem

Postby TheAge » Aug 8th, '07, 13:37

Hey guys, wasn't sure exactly where to post this, but the forum's name is 'Support and Tips', so here goes:

I was shopping at at Ronjo's magic store online (www.ronjo.com), and bought a few items (for those interested, David Hoy's Book, Annemann's PMM, and a deck of Bikes).

When I entered all my Visa information and pressed the 'Pay' (or whatever button it is), the site displayed a page saying that the order was invalid for unexplained reasons. I pressed Pay again (who knows why) and a page was then displayed stating that the order was invalid, because it was a duplicate order.

I checked my bank account, which is now a few dollars lighter.

I haven't recieved any confirmation of purchase email (the transaction occured around 3 hours ago).

So now, being a new online consumer, I have no idea what to do. Who should I email? Ronjo or my bank? Or should I wait until tomorrow for a confirmation email?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

-Adrian

Personally I would contact the online shop straight away and find out the situation their end of things and take things from there.

I'd drop the shop a line, myself.

I had a similar thing with an online shop here.

I emailed the shop right away, explained what had happened and that I didn't click twice in case of double payment.

I checked the bank as well which said the money had gone. It was sorted in the end. I guess its something that happens once in a while but I'd never click twice just in case.

Drop them a line, they'll be able to help as at their end it might be just fine as it was in my case.

Thanks guys, I emailed the store this morning.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to see my reply, two days away from the mishap.

Damned time zones :(

Just some advice for you, based on my experiences. Never click on the "pay" button more than once - as you now know, it's more hassle than it's worth. If it doesn't go through the first time and you get an error message, contact the shop and check if they have actually received your order. Then act accordingly depending on what they say.

purchase problem

Postby Ronjo Magic » Aug 10th, '07, 17:54

Hello Adrian, Pete from Ronjo.com here. I think you are the person who contacted me about the Hoy Booklet? If so then we are all cleared up now.

What happened was that you ignored the first message. This was not an error but a notice that our system did not match your billing address to the billing address you typed in.

Our system authorized your credit card for the amount of the purchase but stopped the order from turning into a sale because of the AVS Mismatch (address verification system).

As you accepted this message as an error and tried it once more, the same thing happened. And the system told you it was a duplicate.

These are authorizations on hold, not sales. These authos automatically get released back to you by the issuing bank and have nothing to do with us.

These authorizations are held under our company name but can not be converted into captured transactions because they were rejected from the system before they reached our point of sale.

If you are still having a problem trying to place an on line order, maybe our system just doesn't like your billing address even if it is an accurate one. It can't take the word Box in the address line because it thinks it is a PO BOX. You can trick the system by typing bx or B O X.

You can't change you address info one you have created a login, so you will have to create a new login for yourself or contact webmaster@ronjo.com and he will delete the your original login and you can make a new one using your origianal login name & password.

Any other questions, we are always here to help you. Email Pete@ronjo.com.

Maybe we'll get to meet some of you guys at Magic LIVE in Vegas Aug 18t9th-22nd? If you are there stop by the Ronjo booth and say hello!

Take care,
Peter Albertson

Thanks all, and Pete, once I get the missing money figured out with my bank, I'll be happy to try ordering from you again :)

Just wanted to clear things up with you and the message board.
You should always ask your dealer first if you are having problems (I know you did.) I just meant you all in general. I just happened on this post through Google & signed up right away to respond.
Take care,
Pete
