Best ACR ending?

Postby Jjtee » Aug 31st, '07, 00:15

Hey guys! Just finished watching Daryl's ambitious card dvd-which I have to say was excellent and intense (I do like his clear teaching style). I was wondering though on everyone's ACR finisher? Bent card is very nice, as is Daryl's ending (I so need to make that gimmick, which may take me the rest of my natural life). Any thoughts?

Folded card to mouth, absolutely kills every time. Ive finished my ACR with this every time for about 4 years now, and the beauty of it is when youve learnt the Mercury c*** f***, you can use the sleight and utilise it to produce the folded card from anywhere if your a bit hung up on a card from mouth.

I agree with this, although if the chance permits I love to end with card in mystery box! If not then folded card behind specs watch is another good one!

I'd love to finish my ACR with Ray Kosby's Raise Rise...

...it looks absolutely amazing, but it's too bad that it has been described by some as the most difficult sleight to master of all card history :(

One that I've done for friends before is to vanish the card at the end and have it appear in their bag or pocket. Only don't tell them at the time. Some of the phone calls I've had when the card's been found have been brilliant.

I have always got great reactions from using paperclipped as an ending.

I hand one spec the paperclipped card near the beginning of my routine to keep a hold of. Then when I do ACR as a finisher the last phase I take the paperclipped card and open it up to reveal their signed card.
What I particularly like is that the spectators get ahead of you and when you pick up the paperclipped card they start to react before the reveal. You get pre-emptive 'No,Way!' and 'It cant be?'.

I don't really do ACR often but sometimes if I'm messing about for friends and do it I like to go straight into card under box with there signed card then as a finish card into box.

I haven't got an ACR routine myself, but the most impressive I have seen is Tommy Wonders ending, with the signed card appearing folded from inside a ring box which has been in full view the entire time. I understand you can learn this from his book of wonders

The whole premise of 'ambitious card' is the card rising to the top. Hence the name.

And if you're playing at this to the audience, then why not keep this premise up at the end by finishing with Card IN Ceiling...?

You can't get much more 'risen to the top' than that!

I love being new to magic. I have no idea what half of the endings you have mentioned are, and have no idea at all how to do each one! :D I like the card to ceiling ending idea, but it's not the most impromtu thing..or is it?

I couldnt agree more with both of the above statements, a specs realization without prompting is priceless, no need for 'watch'...'watch'...

love it :D

I love to use Riser Deck for my ACR finish, I know it isent out yet but I know Mark Elsdon (the guy who made riser deck) and I got one off him a bit ago, I will make a review also!!!

Thanks, magico563:-)

The riser deck is totally impractical as an ACR finish in an impromptu situation.

The beauty of most ACR effects is that you can do them with a borrowed deck (Yes, even card on or IN ceiling).

I see that Alakazam badge it as 'the classic ending to any ACR routine'. We'll see...

Another REALLY great ending for ACR, which can be done with the signed deck and a BIT of prep, is to use Nick Einhorn's 'Spooked'.
