What do you do with your grubby cards?

Postby Jjtee » Sep 13th, '07, 18:42

Heya guys (again),
Another apparently innane post by myself! I was just wondering, what do you guys do with grubby cards bar throw them away? I've used 2 decks of red and blue bikes for almost 3 months straight, and they are the grayest grubbiest things I've ever seen. The decks have swollen to unimaginable sizes, the edges are frayed and nasty! So is there any use for them now bar the bin? I thought about using them as dupes, but they look so different from nice cards!

Use the for torn and restored practice or to practice making any gaffs before destroying a card from a new pack

I agree. Use them for practice on tricks requiring ripping, tearing, burning, folding, etc. cards. Then, you can throw them away. :D [/quote]

Dirty card principle....or torn, restored, etc....If you perform for kids shows, sign them and hand them out...kids love souvenirs!

I go through about 2 packs a gig because I do a lot of mercury card to shoe or mouth, card on ceiling, card souvenirs etc, once I get down to an unworkable amount (around 35 cards), I open a new deck.

I do on average 4 gigs a week, so I have this enormous stock of half decks build up.

About once a year I sit down with about 200 half boxes of cards and spend several hours sorting them out and re-use them, sticking any dodgy decks in a card press. I never have one pack long enough to become worn and warped.

Hey, why not search on TM for 'old cards'...

There's been several VERY long and VERY deep discussions on this subject already...

The trick is, stop using them as soon as they get a bit clammy or a little dirty and you end up with a full deck of spares or dupes that you can use in a multitude of other tricks. If you wait too long then the cards become too grubby to be used for duplicates and you're gonna have to chuck 'em. By changing decks a little more regularly (before they get too wrecked) then you'll save a load of cash in the long run...
