Quality 8)

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Yeah Slydini was literally kicking arses with the Paper Balls OH routines. I saw another version from him not so long ago, if i find it back ill post it here too.

Thats one of those tricks ill make sure to use on my futur stage appearance.
Its such a classic, it should never be forgoten.

On this same line of idea, does anyone know of a book of ideas for routines with Paper Balls OH.

I know i have a video of Wilson who show a good routine usable in pubs/bar or even outside using the "Criss-Cross" as misdirection. Although i would like to find more ideas about that masterpiece.

Ken Brooke admired Slydini greatly but I once heard him remark "I get more laughs from the Paper Balls over the head than Tony ever got in his life" and "I have seen Tony bore people to death doing coins through table over and over again"

On the positive side though he told me that he once took Slydini into a pub and asked him to show the regulars some tricks. The punters said "Oh, no Ken-he won't be as good as you!" Remember the laymen would have had no idea who he was supposed to be. However Slydini did some magic and utterly slayed them according to Ken. Interestingly enough he didn't do that much lapping according to accounts. Instead when he got rid of the half cigarette for his broken and restored cigarette he tossed the piece over the spectator's shoulder.

He also told Ken that although he didn't think the paper balls in the hat was a particularly good trick he included it in his book since it would be a very good example trick to teach his techniques.

I met Slydini once. He seemed very grand. He sat there looking very important and pleased with himself. I did not get an impression of great modesty. I also met Vernon who was charismatic and friendly and not in the least concerned about how wonderful he was.

Those you tube things do not do Slydini justice. He is a very old man there. The technique is still perfect but he has lost his presentational flair. He can hardly speak.

This is one of those effects that I do when a friend asks to see a trick. It is just so much fun, for me and for the people watching.
