funnily enough, in the pdf i briefly mention using the Book of the Law as a variant...

you can even adapt the handling to fit any type of book, or diary, or notepad...

i quite like the idea of a group of diaries from a collection of serial killers, or maybe a mad scientist's notebook...

but ultimately, it can fit any kind of booktest you want sir...any style at all...

I have the Hateful Page and it's a pretty cool idea. It's one of those effects that the minute you read it in the PDF, you plan to perform it.

I absolutely agree. This is excellent and for those who find it a struggle to imbue their mentalism with theatre then this is ideal as it is inherent within this piece. All you've got to do is build on top of those strong foundations.

It always nice to see people you have met have there stuff getting good reviews.

I just have to add to the raves here. I bought "The Hateful Page" only last week (from Magicshop) and love it. Very original idea, simple in concept, but what great potential! As mentioned, it has a lot more built-in theatre than most other book tests.

You could provide a whole shelf of books to choose from, but the concept of the spectator providing his or own book is so strong that it can't be ignored. And the idea of the hated book being ripped up on stage is... well, it's amusing, and also has shock value. We're all taught to treat our books nicely, so it's a bit of a gasp (especially for bibliophiles like me) to see one eviscerated before your eyes.

The PDF is well within even my limited budget, and the cost of the necessary other props is absolutely minimal, so there's no reason for anyone to put off buying it.
