magic monkey is rubbish and cant post at the moment, so I would like to ask you all a question on his rather daft behalf:

he needs to change the band on his flipper, and needs to know what is the best glue to use to put the insert back into the inserty gap, strong enough to hold it in place, but not so strong so it cant be taken apart again

thanks for any help you can give him

Anyone esle who wants me to post stuff on their behalf gets charged at a minutely rate. And Mods, if this gives too much away please move to restricted thread. I have no idea what he's on about so can't be exposing too much

Don't use glue. Use wax. If you use magicians wax make sure it is somewhat hard. Baring Magicians wax there is a wax used in museums to hold artifacts to the display. Sometimes it can be found in antique stores. We use it to keep decorative items inplace so the cats don't knock things over. It holds very well and I have used it for my flipper coin for years as you can also pull the...well you know what, when needed.

Evo StiK (Impact Adhesive). Only use a little bit so it doesn't 'splurge' out the sides when reassembled and allow to dry for at least 24 hours but then it's held good and strong and won't come apart.

When you need to dismantle to replace the gubbins after the little buggers have snapped, just stick it in an egg cup and put a bit of lighter fluid in there. Leave it to soak for a bit then it can be easily prized apart with the tip of a knife or similar. This also softens up the EvoStik enough that you can rub it off quite easily, ready for it to be done again!

Hope that helps.
