This time last year I was reading biographies and autobiographies; Shania Twain's was surprisingly engrossing (especially if you like her music, obviously) and Christopher Reeve's was very moving. I'm not normally so interested in someone that I want to read about their lives, but those two were very good indeed, particularly Reeve's. I still have Robert De Niro's biography somewhere, unread.

richard burton's biographies, the melvyn bragg one especially is superb...

and im with magicwant, the first psychic is a cracking book too...

I'll tell you what's a surprisingly interesting look at a very odd famous life: The Kenneth Williams Diaries.

The guy had IBS. All he had to do was calm down and have a poo and we'd probably still have him nattering to Parky. I've always suspected he's have been in the Harry Potter films.

If I'm stuck for reading material, I type some of my favourite titles into the amazon website, and look at what similar is recommended. I've found some great reads that way.
A couple of books I loved, but didnt expect to, was the eragon and eldest books by Christopher Paolini. The films were a travesty, but the books were great. If you like things like Lord of the RIngs, then these will appeal to you.

Im quite a larger Andy McNab fan, but I've read evertything of his, so I am currently read Card College vol.3 and The Kite Runner (wanted to read it before seeing it in cinema)

Just recently finished Catcher in the Rye aswell...which i have mixed opinions about!

The Bunny Suicides...a very very funny book

I am currently reading two books which are both cracking reads

Cosmos by Carl Sagan
and
God is not great by Christopher Hitchens

After that I have 'Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon' by Dan Dennett and 'How Mumbo-jumbo Conquered the World: A Short History of Modern Delusions' by Francis Wheen.

Not sure what after that though.

The Song of Fire and Ice Series by George R.R. Martin.
An outstanding fantasy series I'm currently on book two.

Other than that college psychology books. Fun reads. . .really.

Go for something "new agey" like the Real Witches Handbook. Go on, expand your horizons.
