There is a song by Paul Simon called 'Red Rubber Ball" I know the Seekers and Crykle both covered the song. I just can't find it anywhere at the moment. But I did find the lyrics

Have a look out for the "Multicoloured Praise Party!"

Its a load of patronising bible reading gits, who get together once a month to tell kids how great god is through the medium of songs and dance.

I went to it out of choice until I was about 12. I dont know why.

But I remember they did a song called BOING.

Its probably a little childish, but I seem to remember it being very bouncy.

Have a look, if it sucks, I warned you, if its any good I will happily take all credit.

All the best,
Croz

One specific line states, "My balls are always bouncing..." If you need, I can find out exactly how many seconds into the song that line comes in.

Mike.

Edited in: The line comes in a 56 seconds. And, it could be played on a ukelele (which, anyone who is an AC/DC fan would start laughing immediatley upon recognizing the riff).

Right! It's been awhile since I last heard the song. I seem to remember there are lots of inuendos throughout the lyrics.

This is potentially a stupid question, but, if you are going to be playing the song, could you not have a song with rewritten lyrics?

I assume there's a good reason for not going down that route, but a rather inappropriate song, like 'Ball of Confusion' by the Temptations might work well, if it were rewritten for the routine.

"People moving out, people moving in. Why, because of the color of their skin.
Run, run, run but you sure can't hide. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Vote for me and I'll set you free. Rap on, brother, rap on.
Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the...(preacher.)
And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the...(teacher.)
Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration, Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation.
Ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey."

(I'ts not actually a rap song, if you don't know it.)

The song 'Thunderball' ('Rubberball'?) from the Bond film of the same name might be extremely amusing on a ukelele.

Part Timer you have kind of pre-empted my post this morning...proof of psychic phenomenia?

I have decided after a lengthy search to contact the booker of the gig in order to get some information about the birthday bloke for which this routine will be done and then I will write a song specially.

Thanks for all the suggestion though people!
