run rabbit run or die box

Postby magicdiscoman » May 12th, '04, 22:02

okey dokey which do people think is better the run rabbit run effect or the slideing die-box effect.
now i should say that i have had both effects in my time and they are both in the audience screamer section.

http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3471 die box.

the rabbit trick is nearly twice as expensive as the die box, do people think the price is justified.
do they have the same impact.
which would you buy.

let me know what you think.

I'd say the die box. It's more suitable for use with both adults and children than "Run, Rabbit, Run" and it's cheaper.

I'd go for the die-box too

Run Rabbit Run is great with a younger audience - in fact it plays very well to the youngest audience you would probably ever get a booking for -but I have found that when the audience is above 9yrs it just doesn't play as well as the die-box.

In my opinion the die box works well for any audience 6+

If you are looking to fool ALL your audience badly stick to the die box. If you are working a party with younger kids who you want to scream while the parents think - "that's clever" with a kicker at the end then maybe the investment into Run Rabbit Run for you is well worth it.

The die box i use is the MAK JTL version available from here http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3453 a great quality die box and a decent price. The run rabbit run i have cost me $35 dollars from ebay new. Not the best quality - but for the times i have used i have def. got my moneys worth.

The die box. I use supremes sliding clock box in my childrens act and it goes down a treat, lots of by-play and I've even had adults come upto at the end end of my act and say "How did that clock get over there?"

The clock is near enough the same routine as the die, But I like it because a clock is a more everyday object than a dice, it was made by Supreme Magic Co in Devon but unfortunately they are no longer in business but you can pick up the clock version at magic days (second hand) I often see them about.

PS I live about 7 miles from you and did a show in Rowner only last week. (small World) :)

not seen the clock version but will keep my eye out for it, I'm thinking of starting a smaller colection of prop devices for fun and work  .

just aquired the mak jtl version as clif, and did a review on it and i have to say its the best version of this type so far realy deceptive, i got mine at the e-magic auction and would have paid full price had i known the small adaption that makes all the diference.
