hey, i was just looking through my yellowpages in the phone book for some magic stores, builders etc.

and i found this one guys and its says he's a magic-illusionist consultant.

What exactly is that? what does that mean? what does he do?
Do pro magicians have these people working for em?
What is it?

does the answer "he's a man who consults about magic" seem too obvious? Certainly sounds like the kind of man who'll know someone who can build illusions mind.

Ive got the title of a Magic Consultant for one of my jobs lol.....

I help a guy who does kids parties source Magical equipments and tricks props etc and other magicians to help with his production!

Its a lame name but kinda funny........

I like to think I was once a juggling consultant to Marc Oberon, but I might be over-selling the handful of minutes I spent teaching him the basics of contact juggling.

I had a bash at contact juggling at uni, my friend was very good at it, but I didnt really have any material to watch, any good dvd's you can suggest....

a magical consultant can be as simple as instructing a child how to do a magic trick or as complicated as advising a stage show were to place certain props and what lighting / backdrops are required.

a consultant can also be someone who teaches business men how to improve there sales and advertising through the aplication of magical principles like i have.

ok, so they basically teach you the do's and donts and other stuff.

So, as an illusionist consultant... Is there a point in having one? Does it really improve the way you perform you show and stuff, or is it just some extra advice you might/might not need?

You'd need to direct those questions to the Consultants themselves. Give them a fairly exact list or description of what you're trying to achieve, ask them to tell you how they would be able to help and what their fees would be. Some will quote astronomical sums of money, others may decline to get involved if it's not their particular line of expertise but you'll only find that out by asking them. Best of luck.

how much does a choriographer help your dance routines or a vocal couch improve your singing.
it intirely depends on there skills and your commitment to learn and as a general rule the more expensive they are the more in demand are there services.

A few times he has tried to get you to let him help. Your reaction seems to be that you will do what you want, got the money to buy what you want. Unless somebody gives an exact answer to what you want, instead of trying to find mopre out to give advice, you don't want to know.

That is your right and believe it or not, this post isn't about any of the above.

What it shows though, is that you will be wasting your time and money on a consultant at present. You will do what you want, so why pay someone when you aren't going to take any notice?
