Never understood Sienfield either it was one of the "everyone must see" shows that I saw 5 minutes of once and thought thats enough.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I like House. And here in Australia we've seen all existing episodes, so I'm surprised to hear that season four is still running in the UK. But if you're interested in the show then you really should put the medicine into context by reading the House Medical Reviews website. It's always interesting to read about what medical information in the show is realistic (some of it) and what's pure fiction (most of it).

His accent isn't perfect (and he's a bit too nasal), but it's pretty good. It's WAY better than anyone on television trying to pull off a New York accent. There's nothing more grating than a person pretending to be a New Yorker...

Dini - I'm with you on Seinfeld.

I have noticed Americans trying to English accents are often of the mark. I think we should blame Dick van Dyke for this.

I've onyl seen one episode of House and one of the doctors was giving a patient tic-tacs. Was funny for about 5 minutes, but I couldn't take any more!

Actually, his accent is pretty right on. I've seen those sketches from ABoFaL and those are much more extreme.

Matter of opinion, so the 'actually' isn't really appropriate.

It just sounds totally artificial to me, as an Englishman living in America. But it may well just be because I am so aware of his real accent.

I feel that American actors make a better job of English accents than vice versa. Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, Renee Zelwegger in Bridget Jones, etc.

never got Seinfeld either - someone would say something "wacky", then a big round of repitious questions would ensue...by then, you dont care what the punchline will be...

"so you're saying George is fat?"

"who said George was fat?"

"well, apparently, so and so said the other day, george is a nice guy, but fat..."

"who's so and so?"

"you know, the one with the big ears..."

"so now you're retaliating with name calling?"

tall man with funny hair walks in, says something odd and wanders out...later, he drinks gin and says racist comments...

THE END

that's what every episode of it sounds like in my head anyway...

I think a big reason why people outside the U.S. don't get Seinfeld is because it's packed with pop cultural references to outside the show. My favorite reference is the "Magic Lugie/Magic Bullet" reference.
