2 Card Transpo from pocket, presented as a comparison between card manipulation and magic.

Enjoy, comment, suggest etc!

I know some bits (i.e. the windmill move) weren't absolutely perfect specimens but a) I don't like to shoot and re-shoot stuff until it's perfect because you don't get that chance with real spectators and b) I couldn't be arsed. :?

I love Saladfingers! Although I must be behind an episode or two because it still doesn't make sense - I don't even know to what sentence you're referring!

Cheers Ecko - I've not seen this trick anywhere but it's a fairly obvious collection of sleights, packs quite a punch I think. Usually transpos in which you get to see the card visually change require a set up and/or cannot be signed, so I'm quite fond of this. I toyed with a version in which you see the card face up go into the pocket, but it took a tiny bit of set up and one fairly risky extra sleight so on balance I didn't think it was worth it. Maybe I'll post it up for comparison.

I recently learned the control used in this effect, and love it. It's basically a pass under cover of "checking" the top packet to see whereabouts the card is being placed in the deck. Flies by.

I must admit, when the signed card turned up in the pocket I had a bit of a "wtf?" minute. Very nice indeed :D I don't think my abilities are good enough to do that one though...

Well, I'm always happy to give a magician one of those! ("WTF" moments that is...).

I'll be honest, this is something I am much more likely to do for a group of slightly tipsy girls than some tight-lipped critic, but a little practice on the timing is all it takes - so it's not a race to the pocket, but you're not tempting fate either...! Also, the larger action covers the smaller, and if I'm worried, I'll make the larger action pretty damn big!

I've realised that what I forgot to do is the convincer - you can actually pull off the newly revealed card and flick it a couple of times, using the card equivalent of a Kaps (or is it Ramsay?!) sublety. It's best to actually turn to the left slightly before doing that but it works a treat. Tomorrow I'll get that other version up there and try to include it.

I really liked it actually. Very sneaky pass never thought of doing something like that before.

The windmill move looked a bit different to the one I know. Obviously the same principle. Did you learn it from Devils Picturebook or straight from Lennart Green?

When you say, "straight from Lennart Green"... he didn't teach it to me personally...!

No, I learnt it from a Matthew J. Dowden DVD (obviously he credits Lennart).

You know what, I loved this before I even saw it. I read the plot description while the vid was loading and thought it was a great way to chuck in some flashiness whilst retaining a genuine magical moment. Unfortunately I'm on my laptop in the front room at the mo whilst my housemate is shooting the heck out of people (on the PS3) so I couldn't hear what you were saying. Needless to say three minutes of basically gestures caused me to zone out a bit and I didn't concentrate on the handling but the last bit with the colour change impressed me with it's structure.

Do you mind if I steal the plot and use it for my own nefarious purposes?
