Wowallet or Stealth Assassin or Both??

Postby damianoke » Apr 4th, '08, 12:32

I am looking to buy a wallet which I can use to perform at least a few different routines. I have come across the Wowallet package for £25 which includes 4 routines inc Frenzy and a Koran deck. This looks like good value. see the link below:

http://homepages.tesco.net/stephen.tucker1/wowallet.htm

I am also considering the Stealth Assassin 1.1 version, the downside to this is that the price is considerably higher.

Does anyone know whether the routines that come with the Wowallet can be performed with the Stealth Assassin and if they are covered within the DVDs that come with it.

I know that the Stealth Assassin is rated very highly having read the reviews but I cannot find any reviews on the Wowallet.

Is it worth buying both wallets? or considering the prices and what they do which one would you recommend buying?

Any information to help me decide will be much appreciated.

They are very different items.

I bought the Wowallet because I couldn't find another type of wallet I wanted for an effect. It just didn't suit the purpose. It remains unused and, to be honest, I am not entirely sure where it is.

I don't think it's exactly a bad product, just not quite right for me. I think I've seen other people say much the same. I think that, if you're willing to limit the number of the WoWallet's 'uses' a little, it's a more effective prop.

I liked the Stealth Assassin Wallet so much, that I bought the second version as well as the first. However, the fact that you've asked for a comparison of two quite different items suggests to me that you're not entirely sure what you are after, other than a wallet that can be used in a few different effects.

What sort of routines would you like to do? Do you want to do card magic, mentalism, mentalism with card magic?

Another option that might suit you is Jerry O'Connell's Large Plus Wallet, but getting an idea of why you want a wallet at all would be helpful.

I have started to become more interested in mentalism lately and have purchased the mind power deck, radar deck, Masuda's Dramatic Envelope and the RAMA deck which are great. I wanted to add a bit more variety and came across Future Zone whilst browsing on Talk Magic this then led me to the Wowallet which looks better and does a similar routine plus more. I particularly like the routine where by you place cards down on a table until the spectator says stop then you take a card from the wallet which matches the card that the spectatator stopped at. However I am trying to decide whether I would be satisfied with the Wowallet or whether I would be better off investing in the Stealth Assassin instead. I am not sure of the full potential of the Stealth Assassin as for obvious reasons the reviews will not go into too much detail however I didn't want to pay out £100 for it if it just ends up gathering dust when I could be just as satisfied with the wowallet for only £25. On the other hand if the Stealth Assassin is by far the better option I don't mind paying the higher price. I am hoping to get some people's opinions of both so that I can make the best decision.

To be honest this is the first I have heard of the wowallet. I have future zone and have always had great reactions using the wallet supplied with it.
Looking at wowallet it seems the same effect can be created using a regular deck.
Might be one worth purchasing.

OK, so at the moment, it's 'mentalism with cards'.

The Stealth Assassin Wallet won't do the card effect the Wowallet will, at least not in the way you envisage it. The review on Talkmagic does actually explain what features the SAW has:

I think you should hold on before buying one. It's a lot of money, for something that simply might not be where you're going to be going. This thread has a good explanation of the issues:

Or, as abraxus once put it, "it is £100 and unless you're going to make that back in a gig or two, dont spend that much on a 'hobby' item..."

If I am honest, I don't think you'll like the Wowallet either (although I could be wrong). Have you considered the Shogun 2/Heirloom Wallet?

It's a hip pocket wallet that really does look exactly like a normal wallet. I've been using mine for years now (and really should start using the replacement I bought). You can get a brand new one from Alakzam for £24.99, the same price as the Wowallet.

Alternatively, Trickyfied has just put one up for sale for £20:
