I've got it but haven't finished reading it yet. I find that he repeats himself quite a lot and that annoys me when I'm reading and I find my mind wondering. I will put a concerted effort in in a few days.

So far it is interesting though, I knew a little about stage and medical hypnosis and how we spend a good proportion of our day in some kind of 'trance' or another but never thought about it the way it's discussed here.

Zack, yes it is a lot purer than Derrens books in a sense since it is entirely about hypnosis and was really written for the practicing hypnotherapist, not the performer but by understanding it you will gain a great insight into the way the mind works.

Hi,

I have this book.

It certainly re-programmed my mind, and gave new perceptions on angles that I had wondered about and yet had not had fully explored.

From the Mentalist point of view, it will help you 'read' people better, and if your business is 'reading' people, then you will find this a treasure.

Understanding why people do what they do, certainly helps predict what they will do...and how they can be 'guided' (some may say manipulated) during interaction with them.

It is NOT a performer's book (it gives no 'tricks', effects, routines or secrets of magic/mentalism) it doesn't even give you a 'recipe' for achieving what it advises you to do. All must be digested, and moulded to your own style and for yourself. Thus, for some, it will be a disappointment.

Written in a clear style, it has many interestin anecdotes and examples and is written mostly in plain-english, in a sardonic, and light manner.

For the individual thinker, it will be a revelation.
