For anybody interested, this site has information on the times that you can see the Space Station, Shuttle and satellites as they pass over your area.

Somebody told me that they had seen the shuttle dock with the space station and had confirmed the time and location afterwards.

No telescopes required, you just need to find out when and when to look.

As far as I can tell, it is the sun reflecting on them which shows up as a glow, rather than seeing the shape of the Shuttle!!!

Still, pretty amazing when you think about it.

remember seeing the docking. It happened just before going out of veiw because of the earths shadow. I stood outside my house watching for about fifteen minutes. I that time I got quite a few strangers to stand their with me watching.
