Reversed Card Bluff

Postby Lenoir » May 20th, '08, 21:13

Does anyone know of a sleight in which you have a reversed card in the middle, you seemingly turn it back the right way, but upon reinspection, it's still reversed?

I saw a Tommy Wonder routine and am desperate for a similar style sleight!

Haven't seen the routine, nor have I personally run accross the effect.

What about a duplicate and a triple lift? (think sandwich)

Basically, he does a really basic..."reversed card in deck" yeah...that one you did as a kid. But presents it really well. He runs through the deck and says "here it is upside down" and they applaud, then, he picks it up, reverses it, showing the card being reversed inside, closed the pack up, and then its still turned up.

I can see one move, that doesnt seem right, but it makes no sense! It doenst help at all!

Are you sure he didn't just use a dupe as the secret of the first part of the trick?

Also where is this routine?

Hehe, that is cool! When he "turns it over" couldn't you just use a one-handed erdense color change and just mimic turning it over?

Oh, I see he really can't use dupes, maybe he cu*** the bottom card to where the turned over card is?

I think he's doing something very similar to vernons add on move. I'd need to get a deck of cards in my hand though to work something out.

You could probably also do something with a top change as well if you played about with it?

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Hey Wild - why not check out the DVD the effect came from? It's from Volume 2 of Tommy Wonder's Visions of Wonder set.

Great point Demitri, I'm an absolute massive fan of Tommy Wonder!
Thanks to Crozboz, I (actually he) worked it out and yeah Palfince, it's close to what you said. Amazingly smooth handling though!
