An interesting cd routine would be that you have a a full scale orchestra in the background, (does not have to be live) You start silently all the cd's are silver. One by one they change colour. As each one changes colour a section of the orchestra begins to play.
There is a magician Ted Outerbridge. He used to do a torn and restored paper using music paper. He had the full orchestra playing in the background. Each time he would tear the page one section of the orchestra stopped playing. After the last tear the place would be silent. During this awkward moment he would pass his hand over the torn pages and with a flip of his wrist the paper was fully restored and the orchestra suddenly played on.
It was a very 'cute' act.
