Just a simple read a couple of posts above mine would have given you...
For those that are unsure here is a dictionary description of Klutz - a very foolish or stupid person, or a person who moves awkwardly.

Think I've got this... finally! :)

Mr Balloonatic here's the quote from earlier, Hodgkinson I think.

Solution: She swallow the pebble!! Then when they look and see that the remaining pebble is black they are forced to conclude that she swallowed the white pebble!!

Magic is slight of mind!

Don't pull out anything?

OR

Just pull out both, thus proving that he was cheating.

Take one out, put it in your pocket, and say to him "prove it was a white one"?

haha

swallowing it gets my vote!

Or pick one out, and get a "tight hold" of the situation, whereby not opening your hand, thus looking at the remaining puzzle, thus "proving" the pebble you hold is the white one?

Love

The solution I got was much the same as the others except she drops it amonst the rest of the black and white pebbles to start off with...easy to work out from there!

Pfft, sure some more ridiculous answers can be tried first like maybe painting the stones white Alice in wonderland style.

Actually I believe the correct solution is for the girl to take out the pebble and keep it in her closed fist while asking the villain to show here which pebble is left in the bag ... all he can do then is take out the black pebble and she must therefore have picked the white one and will be free to go ;)

What if the bag was an egg bag ... then she could have made them both disappear and be accused of witchcraft ... or if it was a change bag perhapsshe could have turned them into two white ones ... the pissabolities are lendess
