Chris Hare's Birthday Detector

Postby VoodooMick » Nov 17th, '07, 02:16

This is a "product" that has been brought to my attention via the Mentalist Asylum and I wondered if anyone can vouch for it or not? It's a pretty pricey routine so I would like to do as much research as possible before laying out the £95 that I cannot affored to squander.. however, it keeps tugging at my curiousity lol.
If you want to see a description and video then go to www.birthdaydetector.com
Best Regards
Mick

i don't know anything about this product but am always wary of sites that have several pay here links and a lot of hard sell in between, just my personal view.
I'm sure someone more learned in the field will be along presently to set you straight.

Chris is a friend and I've seen this in action many times throughout it's various stages of development. I can't remember the method for this definitive version but I do know it does exactly what it says on the tin. I've seen Chris perform it many times and it's never failed. As for the price, as with most effects, it's down to the individual to decide whether it's worth it for their act.

Basically, it's not a scam, it's a genuine product.

chris hare - birthday detector ...

Postby Waldorfcartoons » Jun 18th, '08, 23:54

... looks very tempting but, before I part with my cash, is it based on similar lines to 'chronologue' (which I have)? I'm not fishing for secrets (obviously) but I suspect there would be little point in having both (although Birthday detector seems to have more 'strolling potential' than Chronologue)

I'm not familiar with Birthday Detector but I watched the demo video and it does look quite impressive. But £10 p&p? What's that all about? Surely the size of the package you get does not justify the charge, even if it was sent special delivery. I could be wrong, of course, but £10 seems excessive.

This product is deceptive, you'd think it were a gimmick all in the diary, but the £10 shipping is because of a rather large piece of equipment that the audience isn't meant to see. You wear it on your person and while they're holding the book it reaches out and finds their w@llet in their p*rse or p*cket, reads the birthday and then taps it out in M*rris c*de on your foot while you read their palm. Hope that doesn't give too much away! ;)

Honestly though looks like a fantastic product - but with the exchange rate what it is I think I can keep C.U.P.S at bay for now :).

M*rris C*ode? Morris Code? Does that involve hankies and sticks?

Well, geez, I'm trying not to get into too much exposure but since some seem to be confused Morris code is an adaption of Morse code. It was developed by a mentalist named Morris Madenov from Russia but now living in Germany. It is specifically used for relaying time data. Most basic users can learn to code and uncode months and dates, but it does include a time option for more advanced users... Watch for my review in the coming days.
