Always elastic bands. I never go anywhere without them. They are simply the best for real impromptu magic.
Normally a shoelace size/width piece of cord. very useful for numerous ring on/off string effects, torn and restored macdonalds straw, hunters knot etc.
A deck of cards is always in the car. I don't always carry it around, but it's there in case I am asked, and a borrowed deck isn't present. the deck in the car also is usually set up in BCS - although after a few BCS effects I will happily destroy the stack and use it as a normal deck.
The current item though that I always have on me is die cipher 2. The reactions and impromptuness of this little wonder just makes it a must have. A little bulky for a trouser pocker, but worthwhile. The funnt thing is NO ONE ever queries the need for it. No one ever says, well how about I just think of a number and now you do it...
I also have a self folding bill in my wallet, but to be honest I haven't done that for ages - I never seem to remember that it is actually there.
I used to always carry the prediction sheet for Simon Aronson's "Shuffle Bored", but now I go the Aldo Colombini route with that and just use a written predicition.
The stealth Wallet is usually (not always) carried, complete with business cards. As this is so useful for pleasing the impromptu "show me a trick" johnnies. I also carry in the stealth wallet a few prepared business cards for various "out to lunch" tricks.
Oh, and in the stealth wallet is a crib sheet I need for a really nice magic square routine... (one day I'll just memorise the damn numbers).
And having just checked, I still have two preset coin thru rubber sheet penetrations in my main wallet. These have been there for months now, and believe it or not they are both still set beautifully. I would have thought that unlikely but it is true. Again though I forgot they were even there...
