Review

OK - this is not cheap but you can get stung around £30 or more for a normal coin unique and unless it's a Gibson the qauality may not be up to much. With this unit, the quality is outstanding and will fool magicians. I've shown the chip to a couple of magician friends who both use coin uniques but who hadn't heard of Miricle Chip. Both failed to spot that the chip was gimmicked after very close scrutiny and were instead looking for other ways of how the coin changed! The quality really is that good.

The chip comes in two versions, the quarter dollar and a 2 pence piece. Personally, I prefer the quarter as it fits in woth some other coin stuff that I do.

The DVD is reasonably well produced and has some very nice vanishes that are more difficult to achieve with a coin version than with the chip. I particularly like the Bare Hand Vanish and the Chip 'n' Change routine but the highlight is Wayne Dobson's unique prediction.

This is a very commercial routine that will leave the specs dazed with confusion. They have a choice of a coin, a chip (both supplied) and any third object such as a dice, a ring etc. and you always get the prediction right.

Yes, this can be done with a coin unique and three coins but using different objects adds hugely to this type of routine.

Overall

I think that Miracle chip is an excellent purchase with some nice routines but importantly, a top notch quality made product that should last a lifetime and what's more, you can't spend this one by mistake

Great for a worker as it's small, packs a punch and has a variety of routines to swap between, a few of which are very commercial.

I really like the look of this one. Thanks for the review. I think this would go down well, especially as so many people seem to be playing poker these days. So how did you get on with it last night? And you mentioned that it comes in a quarter dollar version but the blurb states half dollar. Can you clarify? Cheers.

To be honest - I didn't quite get the reactions that I expected with this and I think that other material that I did was far stronger. Part of the problem may have been that I didn't use the Wayne Dobson unique prediction as I was already doing a prediction routine - that being Trilogy so I was using it in other ways.

I need to go back to the drawing board with this one and give it a re-think. Not giving up on it yet though as where there's a will, there's a way

By the way - Trilogy was simply stunning and the reations couldn't be bettered.

I won't be letting this go anytime soon although I have calmed down a bit about this one.

I've not actually used this yet when I've been working but that day may eventually come. Instead, it's one that's been shown down the pub so far and reactions have been good but not fantastic.

My favorite routine from the DVD is the Chip 'N' Change one but people seem to cotton on pretty quickly that the secret is in the chip somehwere - even if they can't find it whereas with coins, people are looking for the sleight and apprear to be far more trustworthy of the props.

Now that I've had this a while I'm inclined to re-score it at around 8 to 8.5 from 10 for these reasons.

this highlights the problems that can occur when using something that is out of the ordinary.
Its the same thing as pulling out a gaffed wallet. a lot of people will say.." its got to be one of those special magic wallets".
they dont know how it works, or how the wallet is gaffed, but they apreciate that it is.

now. The chip should be used in other effects, as part of the routine. then they are less likely to question it, because you doing a poker chip act.
The lovely german guy, whos name has completely gone out of my mind, developed a number of effects for Tenyo years ago, and then most sleight based coin effects can be done with chips.

I'd agree with Dale and that's the reason that I don't use it more - I don't have another routine that would use a chip and if I did, would it need a gimicked chip?

It was one of those 'get it while you can' things to put away for a rainy day (or CUPS as it's more commonly known as ).
