Oh, botties! I missed it. I'll have to download it off iPlayer later on. So it was a good show, then?

"... and you can perform these tricks yourself".

Yeah cause i have a fresh new Vauxhall Astra and Truck lying around just behind the Tardis in my garage.

Truth was, it was a "shock, how did they do that?" tricks revealed show, using tricks that its safe to reveal. It was enjoyable but not as practical as they made out.

What's the point in the camera stuff when anyone would suggest that the video had been tampered with or the recording stop-started?

I've just watched it on the BBC website. I love the complete load of rubbish they gave as the explanation for the Tardis thing. Half of a photograph that's on a special string and drops into place?? Yeah right. It was just a digital editing suite that wiped halfway across the screen to an earlier still.

Great show, though.

I enjoyed it, the camera tricks you can do yourself were a bit of a waste of space. I'd have like to have seen a few more of the reactions to the spoon bending though.

I wasn't too impressed with the spoons, but considering it was going to be revealed, it's understandable.

Kate, you don't think they really used to picture in front of the camera?
I agree, i thought it would be really difficult and not worth the effort to line it up properly and all that, but before it was revealed, you could see a dodgy line down the camera image and the lighting looked different on either side.

The spoon trick wasn't the most impressive, but I liked the ladies reaction to it.

Personally I think it was a bit rushed, "Oh we have a bank holiday lets do something".

Alexis conran and R. Paul Wilson are amazing magicians, the 'superman' levitation was just a real low point.

I did like the wee snippets of magic tho'

And pete firman was fantastic!

The pace was frantic, and the intelligence level was firmly set to 12 years old, but all in all it was a lot more entertaining than I expected.

Loved the vanishing car -- it was hilarious. I want one! (Not for magic, just to play with.) Col's favourite was Pete Firman's vanishing torso, which he found really freaky. And he doesn't even care about magic tricks.

I'm in two minds about the video camera tricks. Loved them (especially the one they did on the pier), want to try them out, but now everybody knows how they're done. YooToob is probably packed with kids' attempts at them already.

I doubt it. It'll be quickly forgotten.

Problem is, who will care? So you cover the lens and then remove it and its somewhere else. and?
It's on video. Regardless of what you tell people, they'll say you must have stopped recording then taken the camera to the top.

Perhaps if you instead use a clock when you block the lens. :? Something constant that would show editing if it was present.

That was the odd thing about how they did it. They claimed they were doing the pier with the basket rather than by turning it off, so why not add the clock in?

For these guys on TV, even editing the clock to be constant is extremely easy, but for you to use, it would be too much hassle, so it would be a good way to make the trick look authentic.
