Had a bit of a mad CUPS moment on monday and ordered some stuff (including Directors Cut - cant wait for that), had a letter through the door yesterday as it was too big to fit through the letterbox.

Now i have to wait until Saturday to pick it up from the post office depot because i cant get away from work!

Nice one, you will relish (sorry) Director's Cut. It's a cracker. Make sure you check out Iain's thread in the mental area for some alternative presentation ideas. Oh, and read the PDF that comes with DC because Simon has included loads of extra info that you won't see on the DVD.

So what else did you get?

I wanted to learn a few specific card tricks and branch out into some other things for diversity so i ordered Greg Wilsons Ring leader, worlds greatest magic ACR, Anniversary waltz and Card Warp.

enough to last a very long time i hope

ps dont think i can get into the mentalist area - isnt it by invite only! lol

I've tried directors cut a few times now. Its got good reactions so far and makes for good conversation topics afterwards. Even with the people I've tried it on who have awful knowledge of films have enjoyed it. Holding off a while till I've tested it a bit more out and about till I write up a review. But so far lovely simple effect.

Even if DC hadn't been invented and developed by Bananafish, I'd have raved about it. As has been said it's very simple to do which leaves tons of time and room for presentation. It can be humorous or really spooky, depending your style. I've had one spectator seriously spooked about how I divined the card which she (genuinely) freely selected from a many times mixed and cut deck, out of everyone's sight, under the table!

I was thinking of working out a prediction routine for Halloween with the horror movie options on a spooky theme, but seems a bit cheesy currently.

Yeah, that one always freaks them out. I love it! Cue evil laugh.

I find it works best of all if it seems to freak me out or make me visibly uncomfortable about knowing the card. I can be a right little devil at times  !

That's pretty much exactly how I play it. I should get an Oscar for my acting skills. :D

Oh my god I really can't afford this effect but I just REALLY want it! I might have to ban myself from talk magic for a bit to stop me from reading about it

Thanks, Mandrake. I feel I should make a speech or something, but will probably get all emotional and start bawling my eyes out. Image

Oh, and Mahoney? You know you're going to get DC so it's useless to resist. Join us. Or die.... Image
